CES 2025 has truly been a whirlwind of innovation, particularly in the mobile gaming sector. One of the most groundbreaking announcements came from Krafton on January 8th, introducing the concept of AI-generated "Co-Playable Characters" (CPCs). Don't confuse this with your standard NPCs; CPCs are a new breed of Non-Playable Characters that leverage generative AI technology, set to revolutionize gameplay in both PUBG and inZOI.
The integration of CPCs into inZOI is particularly fascinating. The "Smart Zoi" feature will bring an unprecedented level of emotional depth and unique personalities to the characters in this upcoming simulation game. This advancement promises to make interactions within the game world more immersive and lifelike than ever before.
For PUBG enthusiasts, the introduction of the "PUBG Ally" will change the game dynamics by allowing these AI-driven characters to adapt and strategize alongside players. Whether this development excites or unnerves you, it's clear that it will add a new layer of complexity to the gameplay.
Developed in collaboration with NVIDIA ACE, these CPCs will also facilitate real-time conversations with players, dynamically adapting to the unfolding scenarios. *“Our collaboration with NVIDIA is a testament to the transformative potential of AI in gaming, and we plan to work closely together to push the boundaries of what is possible,"* stated Kangwook Lee, Head of the Deep Learning Division at Krafton.
While you eagerly await the arrival of these AI-generated characters, why not engage with real human players around the world? Check out our curated list of the best multiplayer games on Android to satisfy your gaming cravings in the meantime.
